Rangers linked with summer move for Championship striker

Rangers have been surprisingly linked again with a move for Preston’s Louis Moult, having failed in January to take interest in the ex-Motherwell striker further.

In a curious twist, the 25 year old, who is yet to score for Alex Neil’s Championship side in six appearances at Deepdale, is said to be interesting Rangers management as a possible summer target, despite his signing a three and a half year deal down south for a reported £500,000 in January.

We are not quite sure how this one surfaced, and assumed, like most other Rangers fans, that interest in the hitman was dead and buried once he switched to the Lilywhites, but this new story claims Rangers are looking at him again.

It was always suggested Rangers saw the now Preston North End man as a replacement for the aging Kenny Miller, but with Alfredo Morelos’ situation not 100% set in stone (despite a new deal Rangers could still sell this summer) Moult may be seen as a replacement for him, too.

We will see if there is any fire under this smoke in due course.
