Murty makes bizarre claim…

Rangers manager Graeme Murty has made an odd comment, and it is not even that clear who it is aimed at.

Following Saturday’s disappointing defeat to Hibs, the former Reading man said:

“We have to get away from this one game mentality thinking we are the best team in the world or the worst team in the world.”

It is not the first time Murty has made a comment which has either confused or downright annoyed us, and we are scratching our heads trying to translate this.

Is ‘we’ the squad? Is it the fans? Is Murty trying to say that our expectations get too high after wins and too low after losses? And again, expectations being the fans’ or the squad? Or everyone?

We cannot deny a little bewilderment here, but maybe it does get back to the dichotomy this fanbase faces in the traditional expectation we have compared with the reality we are currently in.

Perhaps our loyal readers can fully explain what this observation by Murty entails.
