Rangers V Mineiro – both January signings to start?

Rangers’ Florida Cup adventures get underway at 00:00 UK time tonight with a clash against Brazilian giants Atletico Mineiro, and regardless of reports the South American giants have sent a sub-par squad for this tournament, manager Graeme Murty will be sure to want to put out as strong a team as he can for the opening match of Rangers’ campaign.

It is likely both signings will start, given the superlatives Murty has expressed over Goss’s chances of first team football and how well Murphy has settled in, and the fixture also represents new assistant manager Jimmy Nicholl’s first gig at Ibrox since his playing days in the 80s.

Ross McCrorie is definitely out with an ankle injury, and is set to miss all of January.

The starting XI could well look something like this:

Foderingham; Tavernier, Bates, Wilson, John; Goss, Jack, Holt; Murphy, Morelos, O’Halloran.

Plenty of scope for change though, with the Candeias, Windasses and Hallidays of this world on the bench, not to mention Barjonas.

It should make for a good workout for the Bears.
