Rangers to make bid for long-term transfer target?

Hot on the heels of the captures of Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy are the reports this morning that Rangers are set to supplement their striking options hugely with a significant bid for Nottingham Forest’s Jason Cummings.

The 22-year old forward has been linked with Rangers for a considerable period of time, and ex-manager Mark Warburton was a big admirer of his during his Hibernian days hence taking him to the City Ground when he became Forest boss.

While his time in England has not really worked out as well as he would liked, Cummings’ stock in Scotland remains pretty high and while there were claims he had actually been offered as a loan deal to various Scottish clubs, Rangers’ interest this morning has apparently escalated that to a potential seven-figure sum permanent signing.

It would be a fine capture for Rangers to make, with definite quality being needed to partner Alfredo Morelos up front, who is currently Rangers’ only real recognised and reliable striker.
