Rangers and Celtic to do battle again for another rising Scottish star

Rangers and Celtic look set to do battle again for another promising young Scottish player, this time Dundee’s Jack Hendry.

The Parkhead side recently secured St Mirren’s Lewis Morgan, albeit Rangers did not appear to put up much of a fight for the brightest prospect in the Scottish Championship; Rangers have joined the queue for Neil McCann’s most prodigious talent following early December reports Celtic were interested in him as well.

The 22-year old centre back got onto Mark Allen and Graeme Murty’s radar significantly in recent weeks, and with Bruno Alves’ injury and future in doubt, along with that of Fabio Cardoso, Rangers’ definite defensive options have been limited to Danny Wilson and David Bates.

Furthermore former defender and current DM Ross McCrorie, as Ibrox Noise brought you last night, is set to miss out on some game time following an ankle injury, albeit that injury is thankfully not as serious as first feared, but it rules him out of being one of the utility CB options.

Hence the acquisition of Hendry would be a canny move by Rangers chiefs. Here is hoping they can beat Celtic to the punch this time.
