Four club 6-figure shoot out in bidding war for Rangers forward

Following hot on the heels of both Preston and Wigan’s failed bids for winger Josh Windass, Sheffield United have similarly had a six-figure sum rejected.

While reports claim it to be around £500,000, that is the ballpark of Preston’s bid and is likely to have been significantly higher, but Rangers are said to be holding out for the seven figures they believe the 23-year old attacker is worth.

The bidding war Ibrox Noise suggested would start on the former Accrington man is well and truly underway, and if any of the three reported suitors should get close to or meet the valuation Rangers have put on Windass’ head, he is a definite sale this month.

Windass’ future has been under huge speculation ever since Hull were linked with a £500k bid last summer which did not materialise, and now at least three other English sides are in the hunt for his signature.

It is surely a matter of time before an acceptable bid arrives and the front man makes his way back to England.
