£1M attacker to have medical at Rangers

Sky Sources have confirmed Rangers have now agreed a fee in the reported region of £1M for Brighton’s Jamie Murphy and the 28-year old winger will undergo a medical in due course.

There had been doubt as to whether Rangers’ bid would reach the English side’s valuation of the Scottish international, but it appears now any disparity has been met and Rangers have upped the submitted amount more in line with Brighton’s asking price.

The player is now due imminently to Auchenhowie for the medical, and we can only imagine it being a matter of a day or so before the ex-Motherwell attacker is officially confirmed as Rangers’ third signing of the winter transfer window following on from the permanent acquisition of Declan John and yesterday’s capture of ex-Man Utd defender Sean Goss.

This may, if we had any doubt, confirm the absolute end in any interest in Hearts’ Jamie Walker, but more surprising things have happened at Ibrox recently.
