Championship giants complete double swoop for Rangers pair

 Article by: Ibrox Noise
Rangers have reportedly agreed a
fee with English Championship side Ipswich for
surplus striker Martyn Waghorn. According to various media outlets the 27-year
old, who simply never adjusted to life in the SPL, is only a medical and
signature away from returning home to England, continuing manager Pedro
Caixinha’s summer overhaul.
The former Leicester
man had a decent season in the Championship for Rangers, but could not adjust
to the expectation of the SPL and became expendable the more the season wore
on.

It had been expected that
Sunderland were first in line to secure his services, only for Ipswich to make their second Ibrox swoop of the window
and 98% clinch the deal to partner him with former Rangers front man Joe
Garner.
Garner has had a good time of it
since he left, bagging the Tractor Boys’ winning goal in their opening fixture
of the new campaign, and Ipswich clearly feel his and Waghorn’s physical
natures are ideal for the hustle and bustle of England’s second tier.
Waghorn will follow Rob Kiernan
out the door after the 26-year old defender clinched a switch to Phil Brown’s
Southend United recently, and while many fans are delighted to see the back of
the pair of them, we at Ibrox Noise nevertheless wish them both the best in their
future careers.
