Rangers in talks with ex-Man Utd midfielder: reports

 Article by: Ibrox Noise

While Rangers’ transfer activity has started to dry up a little in recent days, reports of new links have still been filtering through and the latest is an intriguing focus on recently-freed Ryan Tunnicliffe.

According to a number of outlets, the former Fulham and Blackurn midfielder is a target for Pedro Caixinha, and at only 24 the Englishman’s best years are surely ahead of him, but Rangers are not the only side interested in his services with Barnsley and PNE supposedly in the hunt too.

Rangers have been associated with a great number of wingers recently, with obvious ones like Jamie Walker still in the picture, while Jamie Murphy’s name and now that of Tunnicliffe have joined the party, and with Barrie McKay’s departure still leaving something of a vacancy, there is certainly room for another good quality flanker to arrive.

Naturally with Tunnicliffe being a free agent there would be no transfer fee, and he comes from a decent school with youth and senior experience at the club he came through in the form of Man Utd, while moving onto the likes of Ipswich and Wigan gaining several youth caps for his country at the same time.

Rangers are certainly in the market for a wide man or two, and any of the likes of Walker, Murphy and Tunnicliffe would fit the bill.

We will see if this story grows legs.
