Rangers-linked SPL midfielder confirms desire to leave present club

On top of the glut of transfer activity coming out of Ibrox right now is the news that Hearts’ 23-year old forward Jamie Walker has confirmed with Ian Cathro his desire to leave Tynecastle.

Walker has been linked with Rangers of late, and it appears the boyhood Bluenose may be set to get his wish as Hearts boss Craig Levein has corroborated the lad wishes to move on.

He said:

“Ian has been through quite an extensive discussion with Jamie to try to get him to stay. Jamie said he has been here a long time and feels it is time to move on.”

Pressed on the interest from Rangers, Levein added:

“There comes a point with every player if we get an offer that’s deemed to be acceptable then we’ll look at that. These are circumstances that happen.”

It is unclear what amount would be required to capture Walker’s services, but he has clearly got his heart set on a move out of Edinburgh and it is hard to imagine his wanting to go anywhere else other than Pedro Caixinha’s overhaul in Govan.
