Rangers confirm trialist won’t join

Rangers manager Mark Warburton today confirmed he has scrapped trialist Gai Assulin’s time at Murray Park and the former Barcelona, Man City and Real Mallorca attacker has now left Rangers with no contract being offered.

The Israeli had been on trial at Murray Park, with many hoping he would kick-start his career and indeed one such hopeful was Spain legend Andres Iniesta who urged Warburton to sign up the playmaker.

But Rangers’ chief today confirmed the trial is over and Assulin will not be joining.

He said:

“We won’t be taking that (Gai Assulin’s trial) any further.”

In truth it was not a position Rangers were in desperate need of depth in, with the likes of Barrie McKay, Nicky Law, Jason Holt and Nathan Oduwa et al all providing high attacking quality and creativity as it is, but for whatever reason, Assulin will not be joining their ranks at Ibrox.
