Rangers make enquiry about two Wigan stars

Mark Warburton has made two ‘enquiries’
regarding Wigan Athletic players James Tavernier and Martyn Waghorn.
Details of the enquiries are
sparse as yet, but Rangers’ manager is solidly interested in Tavernier, 23,
whose primary position is in defence, and Waghorn, 25, who is a striker.

Rangers’ lack of striking options
is clearly a grave concern, with the quality currently in the squad distinctly
below par, and Waghorn, with 7 in 29 for Wigan
is seen as a possible solution.
Tavernier is currently on loan at
Bristol City and with Warburton successfully securing (now) ex-Wigan defender
Rob Kiernan, evidently sees Tavernier as another useful addition and with
relations with Wigan being positive, may view them as a valuable resource from
which to plunder.
With a glut of trialists at Murray Park
currently under the microscope and three confirmed recruits already this
window, today’s news appears to be evidence of Warburton upping the heat on
nabbing new vital signings.
