Bookies suspend betting on Warburton – announcement imminent

Mark Warburton has become
overwhelming odds-on favourite to become Rangers’ new manager after odds were
slashed to 10/1 overnight before a number of bookmakers suspended betting
entirely.
With chairman Dave King set to
outline his plans for taking the Club forward, murmurs of a surprise
announcement of Warburton’s appointment today have begun, with the other
front-runners Derek McInnes and Vitor Pereira fading dramatically in the past
few others.

Warburton’s odds last night were
6/1 but that has fallen even further to 10 while the second favourites have
lengthened to 7 in McInnes’ case and 8 in Pereira.
King’s press conference will be
taking place over the next couple of hours and the chairman is expected to
detail precisely the steps he intends to take with the board to resurrect a
slightly ailing Ibrox Club, and the most important remains appointing the right
manager.
That decision appears to have
been made, and the only question now is whether King confirms it today or
Friday.
