King: Llambias & Leach going nowhere…yet

With a new Ibrox regime now in place,
the previous board having been enthusiastically voted off by shareholders last
week, one would have hoped Rangers’ ties with Derek Llambias & Barry Leach
were severed entirely.

Alas they have not, and Dave King
has admitted that both will remain on the payroll in an ‘executive’ role for
the foreseeable future.

Asked if he intended to fire the
pair of them, King said:

Then pressed on the possibility
of them still having a role to play in the Club his response was identical:

He previously said to Sky Sports’
Jim White they would obviously be removed from the board but would remain
executives and that was an issue to be addressed in due course.

Fact is King and the board appear
unwilling to pay either of them off (total of roughly £300,000), which is what
their departures would require.
