Rangers confirm James Easdale’s resignation

Rangers this morning announced to
the stock exchange the departure of non-executive director James Easdale.
In a statement, the Club said:

“Rangers announces that James Easdale
has resigned from the Boards of the Company and Rangers Football Club Limited
with immediate effect. He leaves Rangers having never received any
remuneration, bonus or compromise payment during his time at the Club. He would
like to thank all the fans and shareholders who supported him and wishes the
club a speedy return to the top flight of Scottish football and beyond.”
For fans wanting change this will
seem like a big deal, but truthfully of all five of those in power at Ibrox
(Two Easdales, Leach, Somers & Llambias) James was the smallest scalp for
the fans to take and in reality, this does not change a whole lot.
Ashley, for now, still has his
three executives on the board, plus Sandy Easdale’s voting bloc, albeit the
latter has reduced slightly with the RST snapping up a portion of its shares.
March 4th is going to
be a fascinating day.
