Rangers' ex-manager won't want to see this...

Eduardo Herrera today celebrated restored Kenny Miller’s fine second goal today in a manner ex-manager Pedro Caixinha will not want to see.

Following the saga that punctuated the past month before the Portuguese’s dismissal, Miller stormed back into the reckoning with a pair of goals and an assist, and it will have been Herrera’s passionate celebration of Pedro’s former mortal enemy which will have summed up just how poor the whole act was.

3 million reasons why Pedro must go

As our loyal and devoted readers have probably noticed by now (we love you all, darlings, and thank you for your support over the years), we have 100% given up with Pedro. We rarely ever had faith in this guy, doubting his abilities from the off. Almost nine months now into the job (count them) and we have seen little to nothing to persuade us we were absolutely wrong.

But when we look back to the summer, there were big clues that this guy was a huge disaster already, and those clues were pretty glaring.

A massive selection dilemma for Old Firm?

Few can deny Mexican Eduardo Herrera has not had the smoothest of starts to life at Ibrox.

The ex-UNAM striker has had a reasonably solid career, if not a stunning one, and while his pre-season displays this summer showed great promise, his performances in the real stuff once the competitive season was underway in earnest seemed to go substantially backwards.

Gone was the summer pressing, running, harrying and pace, and the Mexican international started to look a bit lost, losing his place in the process. His confidence appeared low, and he was starting to drift to the fringes of the first team.

Is it time to give Kenny Miller a rest?

The last time Ibrox Noise broached this topic, as in, discussion about this player, we received no end of abuse.

While some agreed with our assessment of the situation, many misinterpreted the article as an outright attack on the man, which it was not, and accused us of slandering a good Rangers stalwart.

And he is. Kenny Miller is a good Rangers man and no one will ever question his commitment, professionalism and dedication to Rangers’ cause.

The puzzle of THIS Ibrox pair...

As Rangers fans will know, Pedro Caixinha significantly overhauled the playing staff this summer window, recruiting around a dozen players to completely change the face of the starting XI.

Some have hit the ground running, such as Fabio Cardoso, Bruno Alves, and Graham Dorrans, while some took a bit of time to get up to speed, such as Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack.

But there are a couple who remain enigmas, with Rangers fans unsure what they even have on their hands in either case, and who have both only fleetingly appeared in the first team for the odd cameo here and there.

Part One: Striking a balance - Rangers' options

Article by: Ibrox Noise

With nearly 10 signings in the bag, Rangers have effectively acquired a new team this summer. The likes of Dorrans, Pena and Alves have come through the metaphorical entrance at Ibrox while a handful plus have gone out in the other direction, but we still do not really know what shape the team will take next season.

In later episodes in this series we shall look at defence, defensive midfield and attacking midfield, but for now we will start at the front. You could argue we are going the wrong way around but we like to be a bit different here at Ibrox Noise!

Pedro confirms one selection decision for Progrès

 Article by: Ibrox Noise

Rangers’ manager Pedro Caixinha has confirmed that one new signing of either Carlos Pena or Eduardo Herrera will either be on the bench tonight or in the starting XI.

That is a 50/50 for both but looking at the failings of the first leg in which a lack of cutting edge beset the night’s performance before the overall shape started to fade from around 50' onwards, it seems worth looking at the options this leaves.

"They're close" - the five deals tantalistingly near completion

 Article by: Ibrox Noise

With Rangers having already secured five players in earnest for the new campaign, attention has turned to the ‘nearlies’.

There are five players who seem tantalisingly close to joining the ranks at Ibrox, which would essentially make an entirely new team from the one which performed so dismally last season – and only the full back areas would still require work.

Four players in two days? Rangers close to sealing deals; reports

Rangers are close to sealing deals for four new recruits over the next 48 hours, claim reports.

Manager Pedro Caixinha has been incredibly busy at work securing new acquisitions, and with Portugal’s Bruno Alves and ex-Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack already confirmed, it could be another four new faces similarly arriving by the close of play on Wednesday.
