There’s been a bit of viral stuff going on about Ryan Jack, with Rangers’ old boy currently training at Auchenhowie as Rangers fans react badly.
He had a period of course with Turkish minnows Esenler Erokspor Kulübü in the country’s second tier, but his deal expired and he returned home to Scotland this summer.
Now he’s back training with his old club and we had to laugh when some Rangers fans fumed at the gills when Ibrox Noise posed the teaser; ‘is there a role for him at Rangers’.
This is all off the back of former manager Steven Gerrard wanting Jacko back in Govan at Ibrox, and Ibrox Noise ourselves posed the same teaser.
Rangers fans react badly
See, the rage from fans was to fume over a 34-year-old with dire history rejoining the playing squad.
We found this not only comical, but actually degrading to Jack on so many levels.
Firstly, Ibrox Noise only wanted to know if fans wanted to see him back at Ibrox in ‘some’ role. We did not specify playing.
Secondly, the rage from some fans spitting hate at Steven Gerrard with lines such as ‘Steven Gerrard doesn’t manage Rangers, Derek McInnes does’ hints at either tims infiltrating our channels or unresolved childhood trauma, frankly.
Getting to the point here, though, and Jacko was a hero. He deserves a tonne more from a lot of Rangers fans than to reject and dismiss him on any level. Jacko is the reason Rangers won 55, his mammoth body of work in the middle took the flack off everyone else. He covered James Tavernier time and time again and probably did too much.
Rangers fan reaction
So to smear him in such a dismissive, vulgar, and frankly disrespectful manner is not only sacrilege, but it’s extremely unRangersy.
To not be too vulgar ourselves, who the actual fuck are some Rangers fans react badly who would reject a Rangers man in such a dismissive, petty, and frankly angry fashion?
We cannot abide the mentality of slaughtering someone who gave so much to Rangers, for a fairly modest wage, and then ended up cast away. The subsequent smears at Gerrard for encouraging Rangers to take him on board only further disappoints us. Same fans probably loved ‘Captain Disappointment’.
These are also the same fans who would slaughter Rangers’ board over their treatment of Lee Wallace back in the day, only to then do worse today to Ryan Jack themselves.
Seems the more loyal you are, the more you give to Rangers, the worse the board and indeed fans may end up treating you.
For what it’s worth, we’d be happy with more Rangers blood back at the club.
Jacko is one of us, a true Rangers man who loves this club. Having him in a coaching/minor player role we feel would be a fitting career end for a guy who couldn’t have given Rangers more.
Even if many Rangers fans don’t deserve him.
