It is understood that Mohamed Diomande will indeed leave Rangers after the Ibrox side accepted FC Corum’s £4.5M bid on Monday. We can only see this as a Rangers farce on Mohamed Diomande.
Ibrox Noise had reported earlier on Monday that the bid had as yet not been accepted. But this Monday lunchtime the news arrived that £4.5M was indeed accepted.
This represents a diabolical piece of business from Rangers after rejecting £10M from Besiktas last summer.
Mohamed Diomande Poor Value
Diomande, aside being an horrendous signing who added nothing to Rangers in the entire two and a half years he’d been at Ibrox, cost the Govan side £4.5M.
Summer 2025 saw the Turks offer £10M for his signature. This is what Rangers rejected, only to accept a £4.5M offer 12 months later.
We have to ask who on earth sanctioned this madness.
We are glad, at least, that we do not lose anything on the ex-Nordjaelland man, but that the club has lost around £5.5M from rejecting Besiktas’ offer and accepting Corum’s is staggering.
This is how Rangers are run now. Nonsensical decisions from a board and ownership who clearly don’t have a clue.
We thought a corner had been turned with the signing of Derek McInnes, having two Rangers men on the board in Jim Gillespie and Fraser Thornton, and bringing in Allan McGregor as goalkeeping coach.
But nope, we remain as shockingly incompetent as ever. Wether or not this is on Dan Purdy, Thelwell Jnr or indeed the CEO we can’t possibly know.
All we know is we’ve lost £5.5M because some moron thought we could get £20M for Diomande.
