It is understood Rangers are open to selling any of the club’s ‘asset’ players, as long as the price is right.

While there is strong interest in midfielder Nicolas Raskin, the stories around Emmanuel Fernandez never materialised as yet. Mohamed Diomande was another anticipated to gather some suitors but no takers as yet. Rangers threw out a £10M for the Ivorian last summer.

Foot Mercato

The ‘latest’ claim from European press involves French giants Foot Mercato around Youssef Chermiti. This goes back to 22nd of June when Santi Aouna reported Lyon being interested in Hearts’ Claudio Braga. His editor in chief Sebastien Denis then reported the interest was also in Chermiti on 2nd of July. That was before Aouna recently suggested the tale had advanced.

But regardless of who initially reported this story, Chermiti appears to be also be interesting the French giants.

Ibrox Noise reported the Braga story weeks ago, and told you on the 23rd that Rangers were not pursuing the Portuguese.

But the French giants Lyon look like they want both Braga and Chermiti. Going by Foot Mercato and both Aouna and Denis, that is.

Braga for his part claims he wants to stay at Hearts, but he would say that.

Chermiti

And Chermiti has made no comment on his future at all but we must say he looks very chipper in training.

One point to note is Hamza Igamane. Everton have a significant sell-on clause on Youssef Chermiti, which has been reported at 20%. Just like Rangers’ former Moroccan forward.

Whatever Rangers do sell the Portuguese for, if he does indeed move on, Everton will get a significant portion of that.

In the event of the ex-Sporting striker being sold, Rangers want as high a figure as possible to negate the sell-on loss.

The club is said to want at least £20M for his signature, having thrown out a £13M bid in January.

If the numbers are right Rangers will sell.
