It has been revealed where Rangers Brazilian misfit Danilo will be headed after he was left out of Rangers’ Spanish training camp. It has been known for some considerable time that Danilo’s era at Rangers has long since passed. And while we included his name in a roster of the full squad, he is surplus and will be leaving.
Rangers misfit Danilo wanted Corinthians return
Rangers Brazilian misfit Danilo had expressed his desire to join Corinthians, essentially his boyhood club where it all started for him. However, no overtures from the Brazilian giants had been made. And time had not revealed where Danilo could potentially be going. However, it has emerged that Brazilian side Botafogo will indeed likely be where Danilo moves to.
Rangers set to receive a fee for Danilo
Danilo, of course, is under contract till 2028. He will fetch Rangers a few quid. The 49ers are well aware of his desire to exit, but he’s cost the club around £12M and Rangers want to recoup as much as they can. The whole Danilo thing is a shambles and always was. Ibrox Noise previously detailed many times how he is effectively among Rangers’ all time biggest wastes of money. £12M went down the drain thanks to his injuries and admittedly unspectacular form.
Brazilian Botafogo move would end Rangers spell
He scored an appalling 16 goals in almost 80 appearances. 11 assists. The best stat is 27 goals and assists in around 80 outings. Not quite a £6M striker to say the least. Danilo has not delivered anything like what that transfer fee would have expected, nor those exorbitant wages. Rangers are set to get shot of him at long last. Botafogo appear to want to take him on and bring him back to his homeland. That would finally sever those ties for good, and Rangers would be free of him at long last.
It better not be a loan…
