This really is turning into quite the overhaul for Rangers this summer.
While no major seismic signings have happened aside Lawrence Shankland, nevertheless the turnover is getting serious and Derek McInnes’ surgery is underway in earnest.
Ibrox Noise takes you through a summary of what on earth has happened this summer so far.
It all actually began with the exit of James Tavernier. The club captain departed for pastures new well past his sell by date. We were honestly thrilled to get rid of him. Sorry, not sorry. We never liked him. There you go.
Then Ben Davies was finally confirmed gone as well. Bolton took another overpaid waster off our hands and we lost £8M as a result. Fantastic.
But then Lawrence Shankland. At long, long last the boyhood Rangers fan got his dream move. We had our initial concerns that that moron Danny Rohl would ruin him like he did everyone else, but those fears ended up ill-founded as the toxin left our club. Rangers got Shankland thanks to a nifty clause in his contract which made him a free. Perfect.
Because the next part was the jackpot. Shankland’s former Hearts boss Derek McInnes soon followed, bringing Our Rangers back again as a boyhood Rangers fan and player achieved his dream gig and replaced the departed Rohl.
His first signing? Ross McCrorie. We believe he heavily influenced Shankland’s switch, and then made his own official first signing in the former Ibrox lad and now Bristol boy. Rangers invested £1M in the utility man. And the sight of him back in the right shirt was fantastic.

Next up was the exit of Bailey Rice to Kilmarnock. He goes out on loan, and now we know why. The chance of him getting minutes in his position were minimal. Hopefully he shines out there.
Then we had the signing on loan of Ben Godfrey. This one has a little question mark over it but he’s an experienced PL player with Everton and kept Nathan Patterson out that team. It went flat for him when he left Goodison for Atalanta, and hopefully we’ll see him back to his best at Ibrox. There’s an option to buy if he impresses. A wise piece of business.
Then Ivor Pandur was confirmed. A championship goalie, the Croat’s world cup is over and he didn’t play, but he seemingly shone for Hull City. £6M on him.
Not long after, Jack Butland had confirmed he had left, before the club eventually announced it. We wish him luck back in the PL. Yes, with Hull City. £3M received. We can confirm Butland remains in Glasgow for now, Ibrox Noise sources spotted him only today. He hasn’t yet settled his affairs yet and will depart when it’s all sorted.
Then the one Ibrox Noise had misgivings about – Dan Neil. A Rohl signing, this one left us cold, but we’ve received new perspective and information from one of our sources which may have changed us a little on it. Dan Neil could turn out a very good addition. Time will tell. He was a free.
But in better news for Pandur, a really good one – Allan McGregor, making Rangers Staunch Again. The stopper is now Rangers’ goalkeeping coach and will guide our Croat. Honestly there’s no one better Del could have got for the role. We’re delighted.

And bang up to date now, Cammy Devlin. Another free, Sky Sports confirmed Rangers were in advanced talks with him only yesterday, only for the deal to be sorted in hours. We will have a piece on him in due course.
There are little bits and pieces elsewhere, but them’s the big ones so far. What a summer.
