Rangers fans have been voting on their opinion regarding Danny Rohl’s potential exit.
Only a number of weeks ago, Chairman Andrew Cavenagh stated that Rohl was here to stay and would be going into the new season with the German coach.
Rangers fans chose to back Rohl after previously wanting him gone.
They decided that because the chairman had made his decision, they now had to get behind Rohl.
Ibrox Noise did not agree with this, but let the fans, of course, have their say.
Was It A Ruse?
It turns out now that that may well have been exactly what Ibrox Noise indeed said, and indeed what Daily Record’s Keith Jackson similarly said.
It was a ruse from Cavenagh to try to increase the market value of Rohl and move on from him.
Consequently, though, the vote is more important for now.
What did fans think now?
Now that it looks like Rohl may well be leaving for close to his home shores, did fans endorse it or still want to keep him?
Well, we can safely say that once again, one of the most one sided polls has resulted from that question.
The question was between, do Rangers accept the offer and get rid of him, or reject it and keep him?
Around 90% of all fans chose that Rohl should go.
This was one of the most one sided polls we have ever seen on Ibrox Noise.
To say the least, fans do not appreciate Danny Rohl anymore.
Why Fans Turned Against Him
The incident with James Tavernier, the complete meltdown at the end of the season, and Rohl’s own conduct have completely turned favour against Rohl.
It was only because the chairman said he was staying that the majority of fans reluctantly accepted and chose to support him.
But now that it appears that Rohl is heading out the door, Rangers fans, by the absolute gigantic majority, are quite happy with that.
We cannot say we blame them.
Ibrox Noise did not want Rohl in in the first place.
We did not want Martin in in the first place, and both cases went just as toxic as each other.
Rohl is completely out of his depth as Rangers manager, and it is abundantly clear that Lawrence Shankland was not a Danny Rohl signing at all.
The Shankland Clue
The fact that Shankland came in was in actual fact the first clue that Danny Rohl’s time at Rangers was coming to an end, because Lawrence Shankland was pushed by Jim Gillespie.
That signing would not have happened had he not been the CEO.
Rangers’ scouting does its best, but Shankland was already on the list, having been around for quite a while.
But Rohl, of course, made no attempt whatsoever during January to get him, even at a lower cost.
The same applied in the previous window when Russell Martin rejected him while he was out of contract.
But now Rangers get their man because Jim Gillespie made sure of it.
The Final Verdict
Overall, the fact is that Rohl was not the right man in the first place, and most of the sensible Rangers fans knew this.
Unfortunately, most then backed him anyway with all the little memes and cult tunes about him, none of which Ibrox Noise subscribed to.
Sorry, but we were never on the Rohl Britannia whatsoever.
Consequently, him moving on comes as pleasure to us.
It comes as music to our eyes, and we really hope this now happens because we will be chronically depressed if Danny Rohl remains in charge going into this new season.
And it seems now that most fans absolutely agree.
