Rangers fans send Danny Rohl a warning amid approval rating

0

Rangers supporters have spoken again and while the manager still holds strong backing from the fanbase, the numbers now reveal a very different picture underneath. Ibrox Noise asked supporters a direct question following another damaging collapse and 71% still chose to stand by the manager. However, the real story lies in what those numbers used to be. Just two weeks earlier, support sat at a colossal 91%. That means the Danny Rohl backing has dropped by a staggering 20% in an incredibly short period of time.

Down from 91% only two weeks ago.

That is not a minor decline.

That is a fanbase rapidly losing patience after another painful failure. Rangers supporters accepted disappointment earlier in the season because they believed progress existed beneath the surface. However, the defeats against Motherwell and Hearts changed everything. Those two losses effectively killed Rangers’ title hopes by 99% and ripped the momentum completely away from the club. Consequently, while the manager still commands majority support, the direction of travel now looks dangerous.

The Philippe Clement comparison now looks obvious

The alarming aspect for Rangers is that supporters have seen this exact pattern before. In August 2024, Philippe Clement held an enormous 91% approval rating among the Rangers support. Fans backed him strongly and believed he remained the right man for the job despite warning signs already appearing underneath the surface.

Then came a brutal defeat at Parkhead.

That result shattered confidence rapidly and Clement’s approval crashed by around 20% into the low 70s almost immediately. The similarities with Danny Rohl now look impossible to ignore. Once again, Rangers fans started from a position of overwhelming support for the manager. Once again, catastrophic results have ripped huge chunks out of that goodwill in an extremely short period.

Consequently, many supporters now fear history repeating itself at Ibrox yet again.

Rangers poll reflects growing anger

The scale of that drop from 91% to 71% matters enormously. It shows supporters no longer simply shrugging off poor performances. Instead, fans now question whether the manager truly knows how to win this league title.

That concern keeps growing because Rangers had a genuine opportunity this season.

Celtic looked vulnerable for long spells. Hearts emerged strongly but Rangers still held opportunities to take control. Instead, the team collapsed at the worst possible moment. The Motherwell defeat damaged belief badly. Then the Hearts result almost completely extinguished the title race altogether. Therefore, supporters increasingly wonder why the same mentality problems continue appearing year after year regardless of the manager in charge.

Moreover, fans now expect visible improvement immediately.

The Rangers support will not tolerate another season of excuses.

Danny Rohl backing now hangs in the balance

The reality remains brutally simple. Danny Rohl still retains support from the majority of Rangers fans. Yet this poll no longer represents overwhelming confidence. Instead, it represents conditional patience.

That changes everything.

A few weeks ago, the manager looked untouchable among the support. Now, almost one in three fans already wants change. That is a dramatic swing in sentiment at a club where pressure never disappears.

Therefore, this summer now becomes absolutely massive for the manager and the board alike.

Recruitment must improve. Results must improve. Performances must improve too. Otherwise, the Danny Rohl backing that still exists today could collapse entirely before next winter even arrives at Ibrox.
