There’s a bit of a feelgood factor with the (nearly) confirmed signing of Lawrence Shankland under Govan Towers while Rangers fans react.
A signing we’ve needed for many years, the striker will be announced imminently.
Alas, the club has also let itself down big time over the handling of James Tavernier’s exit from Rangers, following the whole Danny Rohl scandal.
And Rangers supporters were quick to slaughter ‘Mr Rangers’ after they took two weeks to announce Tavernier’s exit ceremony on social media.

Regulars on the Noise know that we were never fans of Tav. We thought he was a terrible captain and not a very good right back.
But while it’s easy to remain loyal for 11 years when you’re on £37,000pw, nevertheless any player at Ibrox that long deserves a bit of respect.
And he deserves to lead the team out on his final Ibrox outing.
Tav was denied both of these by the club, by Rohl, who only made it worse when failing miserably to recognise his departure night.
He was of course eliminated from the starting XI, and stormed off in a huff, unable to accept the bench.
Instead he was literally persuaded by club legend John Greig to accept a plaque on behalf of his long service, all suited and booted instead.
It was a dire way to end his 11 years.
And that the club ignored it for two weeks before belatedly putting the video of the ‘ceremony’ up on social media hasn’t gone down well with fans at all. Rangers fans react badly.
Reactions to the post weren’t mixed. One and all slaughtered the club for completely undermining the whole thing taking so long to post it.
Tavernier is long gone and will seek a new life with a new club, but he deserved a bit better than being ignored by the club.

Tavernier didn’t like the article one of our writers wrote some years ago. It wasn’t even a critical article, it was simply questioning something about his Hall of Fame entry. Not criticising his being there, but something about the whole announcement. He saw this piece, searched for the writer, downright stalked them online, and blocked them on social media.

And they are not the only fan James Tavernier has blocked. We know that fine well, many of whom didn’t even say anything especially bad.
He is not the perfect dignified captain who represented our club with dignity. He is a bit petty and couldn’t handle any words which criticised anything around him, rationally or otherwise.
As Rangers captain you need balls. He had none. Model captain indeed…
Ibrox Noise will ALWAYS back our writers. True Rangers fans who want the best for the club and not the best for themselves.
But even said writer and the rest of the crew here wanted Tav to get his send off. We are not petty. We wanted him honoured for long service. He’d earned that regarded of misdeads.
And fans were far from happy that the pathetic tribute he got itself was ignored by the social media folks at Ibrox. As well they should be.
