Rangers fans are going absolutely mental after coverage of Sky Sports ‘revealed’ Kevin Muscat in the away crowd at Tynecastle. Of course, there is a bit of debate over whether or not the gentleman is in fact Kevin Muscat, but calls of ‘he is doing a Beale’ have certainly been raised by one or two fans. Judge for yourself whether or not this is in actual fact Kevin Muscat spotted, but he is an absolute dead ringer if not.
Fan reaction explodes
However, the simple reaction of fans took it as excited as they did over his potential presence at Tynecastle, does show that Danny Rohl’s time in Govan is coming to a very swift end. The reality is that Rohl was out of his depth in the first place. Having never managed a side as big as Rangers at a level as high as Rangers doesn’t help.
Muscat credentials clear
Kevin Muscat has been a multiple country and continental champion with various Asian and Oceanic sides. He is, of course, a former Rangers player under Alex McLeish, and he knows the pressure of Rangers. He said absolutely yes to Rangers during the last recruitment process until Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart ruined everything and put the restrictions on him.
Recruitment past revisited
That was when Kevin Muscat walked away. Just like Steven Gerrard did exactly the same thing during the same recruitment process. With Thelwell and Stewart long gone, Muscat seems set now to take charge for next season. This has been his destiny.
Rohl under pressure
Whether or not he was at Tynecastle last night or the gentleman who was there was simply an absolute dead ringer for him, is borderline irrelevant. The reality is that Rangers need to replace Rohl, who is absolutely out of his depth.
What comes next
He will always be popular and very liked by so many fans, but the tide has turned. Rohl has been guilty over and over again of repeated mistakes and spouting the same lines in the press. Kevin Muscat spotted, or indeed any other alpha manager who has a clue about winning, would certainly be a bit more of a safe hand. But the reality, of course, is that time will tell exactly who does replace Danny Rohl.
