As Ibrox Noise mentioned earlier, the FAB had a meeting with the main Rangers board recently and minutes were taken of the encounter. We also alluded to the fact that one particular topic was raised in this meeting that we found rather amusing.

FAB Raise Familiar Concerns

That is not to say that we found it funny, but we raised an eyebrow at its mention in this meeting because Ibrox Noise has been raising this particular topic for close to two to three months.

That is, Rangers’ performance under Danny Rohl against the top six teams.

We preached repeatedly going into the Split how poor Danny Rohl was. Especially in contrast with Derek McInnes and also against Martin O’Neill, regarding his performance against top 6 sides.

In almost every single case, Rohl came second best or drew.

Very few victories against the top six bar bizarrely two against Hibs, and that aberration against Hearts and Celtic.

Four victories against the top six type teams was way short of the level required.

His win rate was around 50%, which showed huge concerns going into the pressure point.

Split Collapse Proved The Point

If Rohl was unable to consistently beat the top six when not under the pressure of the split, it suggested that he would absolutely crumple in the split itself.

Ibrox Noise warned about this.

We did not get much in the way of agreement from anyone on this. Not apart from those who had the same misgivings about Rohl that we still continue to have.

But now that the Fan Advisory Board have also raised the same topic, it is of huge concern.

Yes, we did indeed mention this long ago, but the simple fact that this board, who have engaged directly with the Rangers hierarchy, have raised this topic is of significant value.

It shows to Rohl that he is unable to cope with pressure against big sides who are in form.

This is something that a rookie manager has struggled with, and that is what he is, a rookie manager.

That he has gone into the split and collapsed as badly with an abysmal 20% win rate in the split shows how poorly he handled the pressure of Rangers when it truly counted.

Rohl Failed When It Mattered

His decisions were diabolical, his management even worse, and his conduct unacceptable for a Rangers manager.

He absolutely folded at the moment where he critically needed to shine, and this was the guy who preached to all of us about hunting and how he looked forward to the split and believed we would win the title.

So consequently, it is hard to take seriously anything Rohl says when the actions do not match the words.

The Board Still Back Their Man

Consequently, overall, it is abundantly clear that the advisory board have their finger on the pulse, and we are glad that they are there.

The board, actually including Cavenagh, agreed with the sentiments, but it does not change the decision.

Rohl gets the keys to the kingdom this summer, unless of course Keith Jackson is correct, but that is another story.

We will see how things go, but we are glad the topics that Ibrox Noise have been raising and preaching for so long are finally being heard and raised.
