If there is a big topic around Rangers, it’s the whole Scottishness and indeed Rangersy-ness of the entire club.
That is, to say, the complete lack of the above.
There isn’t a single Rangers fan in the squad aside Liam Kelly, and the returning Findlay Curtis. Unless you count fringe members Mason Munn and Bailey Rice. There’s only one Rangers man on the staff. Steven Smith.

And what do these guys all have in common? Yes, Scottish (or NI in Munn’s case).
Ergo there’s big talk about Danny Rohl finally caving and going for Scots.
As we revealed to you, Rangers are interested in Scotland U21 international David Watson, but he is only one man.
There’s talk of Lyall Cameron, but he’s not one Rohl is especially interested in. Connor Barron too barely featured under the German.
Rangers fans hope to see more Scots in the team but Rohl didn’t get a single one in January, going instead for two Danes, a Belgian and a German.
There’s the long-standing frustration that Rangers didn’t go in for Lawrence Shankland, who not only is Scottish but a dyed-in-the-wool Bear. A true Rangers man who’d have killed for the shirt.
But what indeed of Cameron.
Many Rangers supporters were keen on the former Dundee man being given a chance, but the manager didn’t agree and loaned him to Aberdeen first chance he got.
Cameron shone there and the Dons would love to make the deal permanent.
Is that a sign of Rohl changing his mind on him?
Rangers fans want more Scots, and the likes of Cameron, Barron, potentiall Watson and others are eagerly sought by supporters keen on that core.
But unfortunately Danny Rohl hasn’t appeared so keen on the idea, using only John Souttar and Barron, and both sparingly.
Whether that changes next season time will tell but as of now there are 7 Scottish players in Rangers’ squad.
Would be nice to see them being used huh?
