A respected Sheffield Wednesday fan account has claimed that Danny Rohl is to be sacked this summer. Obviously, Ibrox Noise’s information on Rangers’ Danny Rohl developments that he is to depart on mutual consent based on family reasons, but the Wednesday account received an interesting response from its followers when it made the claim that he would be outright sacked. Apparently, it was a ‘reliable source’ who provided them with this information. However, the response that the Owls fans gave to this claim was very intriguing indeed. With the account in question asking and mentioning that the man would be available again soon, would Wednesday fans want to take him back?
The Wednesday Fan Reaction to Rangers’ Danny Rohl developments
Now, of course, this is something that Rangers fans are not entirely aware of. All they know is about the mutual consent departure of Rohl from Wednesday. What they do not know is that he betrayed Wednesday as much as Steven Gerrard betrayed Rangers.
Danny Rohl left Sheffield Wednesday under a massive cloud. There were claims by fans, just like Rangers fans made about Mark Warburton and Nottingham Forest, that Rohl was in fact hawking himself to Southampton in the middle of his Wednesday stint.
He was called various names in these comments and accused of a whole bunch of character defects by the Wednesday fans in this post, who absolutely, for the majority, did not want him back at Wednesday.
The Criticism Of Rohl
They considered his character to be poor, to be arrogant, and to be extremely narcissistic. They added he was stubbornly believing that his career was more important than anything else. And that he viewed Wednesday as nothing more than a stepping stone despite his claims of being ingratiated with the club and its culture.
Does that sound familiar?
Yes, we are hearing echoes here of the same things that Russell Martin got exposed for! Repeating the same tired lines with both Swansea, Southampton, then Rangers.
Danny Rohl has apparently been doing the same stuff.
Now, of course, we do know that managers do have a managerial playbook. This is a copybook that they will refer to individually, and often they will use some of the same terms. But when some of the actions are negative and they keep repeating them, there is definitely a problem there.
Repeating Patterns
Rohl does not seem to be a manager who is terribly popular with his fans. Mainly because his actions seem to carry out negativity at his clubs.
His fans formerly of Wednesday definitely do not look at him with the positivity that Rangers fans perhaps thought that he was deemed by Wednesday.
Rangers fans, of course, defended him big time for saving Wednesday from relegation. But the reality is the fans over there do not share the same affection for their former manager.
Nevertheless, this is not really meant to be a hate fest about Rangers’ Danny Rohl developments, but more of an intriguing observation of repeating patterns that we see with managers at Rangers and indeed the clubs that they came from.
It is certainly worth noting.
