As we all now know, the SPFL ‘sided’ with Celtic after Rangers’ appeal over away fans for Parkhead. The Parkhead Rangers ticket drama continues.
Now, this is being slightly misreported for ragebait purposes, in that the SPFL did not side with Celtic at all.
They just didn’t side with Rangers.
The SPFL took one look at this and backed off with hands up saying ‘leave us out of this’.
That was interpreted by the MSM as them siding with Celtic but that’s not accurate.
Regardless though the end result is we’re back at square one.
Celtic’s offer/demand is that the tickets remain available, around 2500, but only on the condition the Union Bears are banned.
Some Rangers fans will dislike us for saying this but we agree with this. We don’t want the vile Green Brigade group anywhere near our home either, and both ultras groups are toxic.
We know about their brilliant tifos and the fact they generate atmosphere on match days but they mostly stain Rangers’ good name. And the less said about that atrocious bunch across the city the better.
So the best move is to ban both groups from this fixture.
But of course, how is Parkhead Rangers ticket drama enforced?
And will Rangers agree to axing the UB from that match?
The relationship between UB and the club has always been a speck strained to say the least. Both sides have hurled muck at each other for as long as we can remember.
And we’re not sure how the 49ers actually view the UB. How much experience do these Americans have with football ultras groups?
But the ball is completely in Rangers’ court now. We’re completely in favour of the club banning UB from this fixture, because we know fine well they’ll do to the Meccanodome what their vermin did to Ibrox.
As much as that ‘might be deserved’ it’s not something that looks good and would be destroyed by the press.
So Rangers have a decision to make. Do they ban UB and send 2500 Rangers fans to Parkhead and that be that? Do they reject all the tickets?
And if the former, how? How do they ensure UB do not get their hands on these tickets?
Parkhead Rangers ticket drama is a real mess, and it’s the result of ultras groups behaving like ‘absolute f*****s’ as they’d say themselves most likely.
