Mikey Moore has dropped a bombshell by strongly hinting Rangers’ dressing room is deeply divided. That while he loved his time here, the squad is fractured.
Moore will leave this summer having made a big impression on Ibrox fans. But during his parting press conference, admitted there are major issues with some players. And hinted that the dressing room is split.
He said:
“For me, there’s no point digging out players. Personally, I think as a squad we need to drive each other more to be better. There are top people in the group, but we need to have each other’s backs more.
When it gets tough, I don’t think we’ve done that enough. In tough moments this year we haven’t stuck together enough as a team and said, “Right, we’re going to get through this.”
We need more big personalities when things get tough and we need to grab games.
I can’t really speak for other people too much. I don’t think boys have gone out of their way not to do it. I just think as a team we need to help each other more.
When things get tough, we need to get behind each other instead of getting on each other’s backs. To have a winning culture, you need those standards.
It’s hard to put it down to one thing, but when things have got tough, we’ve needed to stick together more. That’s the main thing. When we’re doing well everyone is full of confidence, but when it gets tough, that’s when you need to show real personality.”
In short, players are in camps, split, not working for each other enough and not working for the club. And there are no leaders whatsoever. Which is a very quiet dig at captain James Tavernier as well.
Moore points out the lack of positive mentality in the group – that instead of driving each other on, they attack each other.
We saw plenty of examples of players whining at one another.
So not only do we have a lame duck manager few to none of the players support, but they aren’t working for the fans either.
This basically in a nutshell suggests Rangers are a rotten egg right now, rotten through and through. Dire managerial appointments and spineless players.
It really isn’t good when an 18-year old shows more maturity to call it out than any of the senior players.
Que sera.
