As mentioned earlier, that is now four players at least on record that we know to have fallen out with Danny Rohl. Four players and counting. We first initially reported the Derek Cornelius situation. Of course, we already knew from the breaking stories that he had been told to pack his bags and leave Ibrox for good. He did return to training and Rohl denied any kind of fallout, but of course, that was a complete lie. Cornelius was axed and had fallen out with the manager. This was the first instance and Ibrox Noise brought that to you, pretty much before anybody else, we hasten to add.
The Cornelius Fallout
However, it was not the last time that someone was going to fall out with this shambolic manager. The next incident was, of course, Nico Raskin. Raskin went to the press to contradict the lies that Danny Rohl was coming out with and he took exception, of course, to Rohl insulting the midfield.
There is no question that players are not playing for Rohl anymore and he is now calling them out as lazy. Consequently, Raskin and Rohl are finished as a pairing. Raskin was naturally unavailable last night. He was not going to play for Rohl again either.
Then, of course, there is Finlay Curtis. Now, technically, he did not actually fall out with Rohl per se, but Rohl was not interested in him, a bright young talent who had potential and, of course, is now lording it up at Kilmarnock.
Ibrox Noise was not massively impressed with Curtis, but he was certainly doing a hell of a lot better than the likes of Aasgaard. For his side, he kept his head down, accepted being rejected by Rohl and has done the business at Kilmarnock, helping to keep them up.
Let us not pretend here that Curtis has not been a success and has not proven himself. Four players and counting.
The Tavernier Explosion
And last but not least, for this piece anyway, is James Tavernier. The blowout here is gigantic. Told he was going to be on the bench because of an injury, Tavernier stormed off in rage because he was not being allowed to lead the team out.
Some might think that is petty, and in many ways it possibly is. We are no fans of James Tavernier given that we know what he did. We know what he did. And he knows what he did regarding this site.
But nevertheless, regardless of all of that, he should have been allowed to lead the team out. Even his biggest critics among the Rangers support would say that whoever was going to leave after that long, whether they were the captain or not, should have been allowed to lead the team out with the armband on at least for the day.
If they were injured, then they could only last 10 or 15 minutes. Then fair enough, bring them off.
Tavernier was denied that honour. He was denied a proper goodbye. Tav was denied that way of doing it and was told he would be coming on for the last 10 minutes. He stormed out in a huff.
So there is another blowout with this manager who clearly is totally out of his depth at a club this big.
Out Of His Depth
But we knew that from the start. We warned you all that this guy was out of his depth at a club this big. Of course he was. He had only scraped Sheffield Wednesday for goodness’ sake. Four players and counting.
Of course, he was assistant manager at Bayern, assistant coach on the staff. But being assistant does not prepare you for being the manager of a club of that gravity.
Ask Michael Beale. He struggled similarly when given the keys to Ibrox, having been a very good assistant to Steven Gerrard.
There will probably be other players who have fallen out with this manager. In fact, we have not even mentioned John Souttar, who has been cast out as well.
He, of course, has been in dire form. So there is perhaps a justification for that. But why was he offered a new contract if he was then going to be dumped?
To be fair, we do not understand why he was offered that new contract given his form was so terrible. Maybe as a squad player, perhaps, but the way that he has been cast out entirely from the scene is quite ruthless, and he probably did not deserve it.
Dressing Room Breakdown
But at the same time, the players in his place have not been doing the job, have they? Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez have been utterly rank rotten in the best part of the last month.
Of course we do like Djiga, but he has nothing to work with here, such is the deception of the whole situation with Fernandez, but that is another story.
The point is that Four players and counting are falling out with this manager left, right and centre. He has lost the dressing room entirely, and consequently, there is absolutely no position going forward for Danny Rohl.
