Dani Rohl has failed to outright deny links with German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg after fans at a press conference put the topic to him today. In his first presser since the Wolfsburg links were raised in the press, Rohl has noticed sentiment against him considerably from fans who are now a lot more keen for him to move on than they ever have been before. And when asked about the links with Wolfsburg, could only say the generic focus on Rangers and failed completely to deny that he has any intention of leaving.
Rohl avoided the question
He avoided the question entirely, is basically what happened. Essentially, Rohl was trying to keep his options open. The exact quote is below.
‘My full focus is on Rangers. Our conversations with the club, with the board go in one direction.’
You will see what you can think of that quote, which rather than rejecting Wolfsburg, just talks about Rangers. Instead of him saying that there is no link or interest from Wolfsburg, he only said that his focus was on Rangers.
Generic answers will not convince fans
That is what anyone in any job would say in this exact scenario. The simple fact of the matter is that Wolfsburg are interested in Rohl and he would be very interested if he can indeed get the gig over the line.
There is talk of, of course, the release fee, but at the same time, Ibrox Noise understands it would be a mutual consent, which would cost considerably less to Wolfsburg.
Indeed, a mutual consent would mean Rangers would pay off only a portion of Rohl’s remaining contract and he would then be free to hook up with Wolfsburg for the new season, which would be ideal for him.

The reality now is that it seems to be only a ticking clock that awaits between Rangers and a parting of company with Dani Rohl, even he is failing to outright deny the links.
