As a further addendum to an earlier article in which we discussed how Chairman Andrew Cavenagh has blamed all the players and thrown them under the bus, compared with more or less alleviating Danny Rohl of any responsibility for Rangers’ failures this season, is another astonishing quote from the chairman which shows once again how incredibly out of touch he actually is from the fans and how possibly he could not care less what the public actually thinks.
Tavernier blamed for Hibs fallout
The latest issue is that he more or less blamed James Tavernier for the issue. For the issue regarding the incident against Hibs, James Tavernier was told that he should have sat on the bench. He should have accepted what the manager told him.
This, for us, proves just how Andrew Cavenagh does not get it in terms of Rangers. We all believed that maybe he slightly did due to some of his rhetoric and words, but in reality he does not get it because the fans wanted to see Tavernier leading their team out one more time, even if the fans were not all huge fans of Tavernier individually.
Rohl backed once again by chairman
We all would have given him his moment to say a proper goodbye after 11 years of service. Cavenagh called the incident a black eye and did not want to talk about it anymore, but he blamed James Tavernier purely and simply for the whole thing and essentially once again alleviated Rohl of any responsibility.
This is very much standing by your man for sure. No matter what Rohl does, Cavenagh will back him up.
Fans losing patience with ownership
Cavenagh will be the one in the crowd saying hello to fans. And unless they have the in person cojones to actually say what they think, this will not change anything. Not anything regarding how Cavenagh sees Rangers and how he runs the club.
Rangers are in the hands of a mercenary American. A consortium who say one thing and do not seem to back it up with actions. They are saying all the things initially the Rangers fans wanted to hear, give or take, but today they are saying the very opposite.
Cavenagh comments spark frustration
These are the sort of things that antagonise fans and that most fans really do not want to hear. Chairman Andrew Cavenagh is completely out of touch, does not get the club and is winding Rangers fans up for the majority by his comments of late.
And to blame James Tavernier for this incident really does smack of complete ignorance.
