Rangers fans have spoken and the verdict is clear. The latest Ibrox Noise poll asked supporters what the club should do with Nico Raskin and the result leaves very little room for doubt. While opinions remain split on some aspects of his future, the majority want Rangers to keep the Belgian midfielder at Ibrox. Indeed, the leading option earned 39% of the vote and showed that many supporters now view him as the natural future leader of the squad. That outcome says plenty about the Rangers captaincy debate. 61% of Rangers fans back him.

Fans back Raskin to lead

The most popular choice by a comfortable margin was to keep Raskin and make him captain. That secured 39 per cent of the vote and finished well ahead of every alternative.

It is not difficult to understand why. Raskin has become one of Rangers’ most influential players. He drives the midfield. He sets the tempo. Moreover, he often looks like the one player capable of dragging standards higher when performances dip.

Many Rangers supporters have already discussed replacing James Tavernier as captain. Therefore this poll suggests a significant section of the fanbase now sees Raskin as the obvious successor. He carries authority on the pitch and he rarely hides when pressure arrives.

Rangers fans still want him at Ibrox

When the second option joins the first, the picture becomes even clearer. Another 22% voted to keep Raskin but not hand him the armband.

That means 61% of all voters want Rangers to retain the midfielder regardless of whether he becomes captain. Consequently the overwhelming majority still see him as a key player for the club’s future.

For a player who has attracted transfer speculation and growing attention from clubs across Europe, that represents a strong endorsement. Rangers supporters clearly believe the team improves with him in it.

Furthermore, keeping top performers remains essential if Rangers want to challenge properly for the Premiership title and make progress in Europe.

The transfer question remains

Not everyone agrees of course. Ten per cent would sell only for a huge fee while 29% would accept any decent offer.

Combined, that means 39% would cash in under the right circumstances. That figure cannot be ignored. Rangers fans understand the financial realities of modern football and they know player trading often funds future recruitment.

However, the difference between the two selling options matters. One group wants maximum value while the other appears ready to move on more quickly.

A revealing Rangers captaincy debate

Ultimately this poll delivered a fascinating snapshot of current supporter opinion. The Rangers captaincy debate continues to divide opinion, yet Raskin emerges as the clear winner overall.

Most fans want him to stay. Many want him to lead. Moreover, very few appear eager to see Rangers lose one of their strongest performers without a substantial return.

As a result, the Rangers captaincy debate now feels closer to a conclusion than ever before. If Rangers keep Raskin at Ibrox this season, 61% of Rangers fans have already given a strong indication about the role they believe he should hold. The Rangers captaincy debate may not be settled officially, but the fanbase has certainly made its feelings known.
