Whether you believe the stories from clickbait insider about Bojan Miovski or not, it does raise one point about £125,000pw – Rangers striker roster.
Rangers do now have five strikers on the roster and that is incredibly impractical going forward.
New signing Lawrence Shankland is naturally star man now, but as things stand, there’s also another four.
Portugal’s Youssef Chermiti, Germany’s Ryan Naderi, Brazil’s Danilo and of course Macedonia’s former Aberdeen man Miovski.
This is an insane roster, and only one striker at Ibrox is worthy of the shirt at present time.
While some rate Chermiti, nevertheless this isn’t value for cash.
Shankland is on about £25K, and that will prove value for money, and Chermiti in his defence is only around £20K himself.
Naderi? Reportedly on around £13K so not a fortune.
Miovski himself? Said to be around £23,000.
And of course we all know Danilo’s salary is an appalling £40,000pw and he remains on Rangers’ payroll unless he agrees to a mutual consent.
That’s a grand total of around £125,000pw for the strikers.
It is absolutely case-critical that Rangers ship a minimum of two of them out this summer, ideally even more.
It is further essential that the Brazilian waster’s wage is cut this summer because he’s a £40K drain.
Miovski hitting nearly £25K needs shipped out too – that signing did not work at all. Chermiti may get a reprieve, Ibrox Noise’s jury is at best out on him.
But Naderi? Well, not a very good striker but what did we expect from a 3rd Div player at £13,000 a week.
Danilo is keen to return home to Brazil, and that’s definitely grounds for a mutual consent but sadly there’s still a hefty amount to pay off to shift him out. Even on those MC grounds.
What is clear is that aside Shankland, Rangers’ striking situation isn’t ideal and needs streamlined and fixed by the time the window is closed. At £125,000pw – Rangers striker roster needs fixed ASAP.
