Rangers fans have long decried Scottish referees, while in fairness that lot Celtic have done the same.
Constant claims of conspiracy and mason this and f***** that have been levied at the men in the middle since the dawn of time.
And Ibrox Noise has always contended that the problem with our referees isn’t bias, but competency. That they are part time and not properly trained, and while there are other part time refs in other leagues, ours just don’t get the training and time they need.
We end up with slop.

Well FIFA have rejected all Scottish referees for this summer’s world cup, continuing a decade-long exile at that level.
Despite an increase in the number of officials, none from Scotland will take part. And it’s not just the refs. It’s ALL Scottish officials. Not a single one will be at the summer’s showpiece event. Despite our national actually being there this time.
What does this prove?
Aside that they are utterly terrible?
For Scotland being a supposed first-world country, with two big European teams in Rangers and Celtic, its standard of refs is woeful.
Paranoid tims and Rangers fans can feel free to whine about what school Willie Collum went to, but the reality is our refs are just bad.
And FIFA have completely rejected them on any level.
They will not be on VAR, they will not be assistants and they sure won’t be in the middle.
If you put no money in refereeing and keep on employing part-timers on a feeble wage, you’re not going to get Collini among Scottish referees.
