Without any doubt, ex-Rangers boss Ally McCoist has been a huge backer of Rangers manager Danny Rohl since the German took charge in Govan.

Ally has been very vocal about Rohl’s current success at Rangers and has spoken exclusively to Ibrox Noise and TalkSport Bet Casino regarding the manager’s time at the club.

Ally, of course himself, knows exactly what it takes in the hot seat at Ibrox and felt the full pressure, just like Rohl is today, when he was in charge himself from 2011 onwards.

He had a tumultuous time of course, especially after he lost star forward Steven Naismith through injury and had to guide Rangers through the lower divisions. Those really were toxic times, that Ally carried alone.

So he knows a bit about what he’s talking about and he believes that Rohl has done brilliantly as Rangers manager since arriving.

Without any doubt, former Rangers manager Ally McCoist has firmly backed current boss Danny Rohl since his arrival in Govan, consistently praising his approach, composure, and communication, while insisting the German has handled pressure well and shown the qualities needed to lead Rangers forward in a demanding role very clearly.

He said:

“He’s done unbelievably, Rangers manager Danny Rohl. I heard some fans wanting to get rid of him after we lost to Celtic and Motherwell. We were totally dominating the game against Celtic and Motherwell. Couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.

Celtic beat Motherwell, and then we had people saying he’s got to go and all that stuff. Crazy. I think Rangers were eighth or something when he took over. I think Rangers have only lost two league games. That’s ridiculous.”

Rangers were actually 6th when Rohl took charge and it’s the draws that have been a problem!

He continued:

“Celtic have lost eight, Hearts have lost five. Rangers have lost two league games. We were sitting second bottom at one point, and I think they were eighth or something when he took over. The whole story in Scotland’s been great.

We’ve been talking about it. We’ve done our usual. There’s been a conspiracy theory every week, as there always is in Scotland. But it’s just magic and bring on the run-in at the end of the season. Some of the games are just terrific to look forward to.”

He’s not wrong – it’s been the most staggering season all round.

He finished:

“But make no mistake about it, that was a really sore one for Celtic recently. And I think Martin O’Neill actually came out and said that they might need to win every game to win the title between now and the end of the season.

Let me tell you, it’s not impossible, but that’s a big ask. That’s a big ask for any of them. It’s difficult. For example, we’ve played each other three times already. So, Celtic have come to Ibrox twice, same with Hearts, they’ve been to Ibrox twice, so Rangers will have to travel and win if they’re going to win the league. It’s so exciting.”

Ally is very into Rangers manager Danny Rohl, a big backer, but of course he also said positive things about Russell Martin as well until it was too late!

Rangers figures usually do back the manager because being overly critical won’t get them many gigs. The one Old Firm pundit who’s made a career of being critical is Celtic’s Chris Sutton.

But either way, what a finish we have in store this season.
