It is very much all about opinions, we know, but one comment on Facebook recently caught Ibrox Noise’s eye.
It was in response to a post on the Rangers Review about why John Souttar replaced Nasser Djiga v Celtic. This was an analytical article discussing that substitution, which led to Rangers looking shaky and nervy in the late stages.
The comments generally endorsed the article, most of all adding their own tuppence.
One Fan
One comment, however, summed up the majority of Rangers fans these days, the 90% who back Danny Rohl:
“Facebook managers are everywhere lately just so your aw aware it’s Danny who picks the team hes not asking your advice on who to play in defence or up front lot of you’se forget he’s only lost one game but you know best cos you went to ibrox stadium once when your where 6 mate ”
To paraphrase this comment:
‘Who the f*ck do you think you are, offering your opinions on our utterly fantastic manager Danny. How the f*ck can you possibly know more about our club or our defence than a 36-year old rookie boss who joined 4 months ago? You are just an ignoramus arrogant prick who should go back to basket weaving and leave the supporting of OUR Rangers to the true fans like me’.
We decided to overlook the tragic spelling and punctuation of this gentleman who shall remain nameless.
This, for us, sums up the issue at Ibrox.
Rohl
Rohl, who is clearly making tonnes of errors, and hasn’t won in weeks, while only winning 3 of the last 9 total, is regarded as the all-knowing all-seeing messiah by many. Anyone daring to question or offer an alternative take on how we could do things is aggressively slapped down by these people.
Now, if this was a manager with a track record of titles and championships and even just winning, fair enough. But he’s not. He’s a rookie boss who has somehow earned the utter faith of the majority by taking us from 6th to 3rd in the league. It’s hardly miracle working, especially given how rotten Rangers have been since January, and under Rohl and Dan Purdy’s signings.
Those same fans are likely cursing and swearing at this article, steam coming out their ears, calling us tims.
Russell Martin
Because we don’t tow the party line that many do. We were abused all of 2025 by those fans for not backing Russell Martin, by those same fans who then chanted ‘Martin GTF’ in Belgium. Very few of them admitted we’d been right all along.
Unfortunately fans like the gentleman above love to ridicule and degrade his fellow fan for not being the ‘uber staunch’ fan like him. For questioning things. For wanting things to be better than third.
FYI, sir, Rohl has lost 7 matches. He’s won 17 of 31. Sackable numbers but continuing to get the backing from guys like him who will just shout ‘DAE YE WANT MARTIN BACK LIKE AYE?!’
