Exclusive: staggering new stat shows shock difference between two Rangers players

A stunning new stat has emerged from yesterday’s victory over Aberdeen to highlight just how hard Mikey Moore worked, and how lazy Thelo Aasgaard was.

If there is one comical misnomer expressed by Danny Rohl, it’s that the Norwegian is ‘hard working’.

Well, Aberdeen proved that Aasgaard is staggeringly lazy, and just doesn’t have the heart to fight, while Mikey Moore showed him up.

Carrying

A stat Ibrox Noise has never explored before is ‘carrying’.

Aka, how far a distance, in metres, does a player take the ball, and crucially, progressively forward?

Well, if we tell you Mikey Moore took it 143M forward overall, where do we think Thelo took it? 38 metres. Quite the contrast.

Overall carrying distance from Moore was 330M, Aasgaard was around a third of that, 130M.

Aasgaard did it 13 times, Moore 28.

What does this mean?

The blunt facts, laid out on the simple plate, is that Moore works hard and Aasgaard does not.

The stats show just how much work Moore put in, and how little Aasgaard did.

And guess what – both players received the ball around the same number of times. 49 times for Aasgaard and 54 for Moore. So it’s not like one of them was starved.

Lazy

No, Aasgaard is just a lazy heartless player who barely moves on the pitch and doesn’t have the stomach for a fight.

He doesn’t work anywhere near hard enough for a Rangers player, and Moore completely showed that up against the Sheep.

We can’t even say it’s a huge shame because Aasgaard ‘has so much talent’ – because we’re not seeing much evidence that he does.

He’s an ordinary player who got a few goals in League One which saw Kevin Thelwell and Dan Purdy gamble away £5M of Rangers’ money on it.

And it didn’t pay off. Mikey Moore worked hard. Aasgaard didn’t.
