Derek Cornelius shock Rangers story confirmed true

Ibrox Noise owes Read Rangers a big, big apology of sorts. Unlike other publications who produce material criticising another story or individual, then hide apologies away, Ibrox Noise has never been too big to admit mistakes. Regulars know we are honest and will always hold our hands up. And with regards to this topic, that wrongness is Derek Cornelius Rangers axe.

The original claim and reaction

Ibrox Noise learned of a key story from the above source claiming Cornelius had lost his first team place. It also suggested he had fallen out with Danny Rohl. The claim went further and said he was told to pack his bags. It added he had been cast aside to train with the reserves. This came from nowhere and had no clear basis at the time. While not fully discrediting the other site, Ibrox Noise questioned the story. Even several readers raised doubts about its validity. However, Jesse Marsch, Canada International Men’s Team coach, has now confirmed it is true.

Confirmation and consequences

We can only apologise to Read Rangers. They clearly sourced the information accurately. It turns out Cornelius has lost his place in the first team. He is fully fit, yet surplus under Danny Rohl. Marsch then confirmed he may be the reason Cornelius was axed. No one knows why Rohl has no interest in using him. Marsch spoke with the Rangers manager on the phone. He admitted he may have made the situation worse. This now means Cornelius’ Rangers future looks dead and buried. For now, that is the reality. We have seen players exiled before and later return so this might not be permanent.

Unanswered questions and outlook

What caused this problem remains a mystery. No one seems to know why Rohl has no interest in Cornelius. He was asked today about this and we will discuss his reply separately. Marsch confirmed Cornelius now trains with the reserves. He also admitted he personally may have worsened matters with Rohl. Ibrox Noise previously understood Rangers wanted to make the deal permanent. Once fully fit, Cornelius would provide another solid option for Rohl.

However, something clearly changed behind the scenes. The implication could be a fallout between player and manager. We cannot confirm that, but it feels plausible and Rohl didn’t exactly deny it. We do know Rohl has a history of axing players. He can decide quickly and act without hesitation. Findlay Curtis is a clear example, which we will address separately. Nevertheless, Cornelius’ Rangers future now looks extremely bleak. We now know Derek Cornelius Rangers axe was true. Why it happened remains unclear. That answer may only come from Cornelius himself.
