Ally McCoist announces the one Rangers player who makes the big difference

Ibrox legend Ally McCoist hasn’t been shy of a few words to say recently! And with the season being the rollercoaster it has, there’s much food for thought. Speaking exclusively to Ibrox Noise by way of talkSPORT Bet Casino Super expressed a massive priority for one man.

“Danny Rohl needs to bring a few players in. I have to say, the recruitment he has already done has been pretty impressive. He’s done well. I like the one or two he’s brought in.

Tochi Chukwuani in the middle of the park looks as though he’ll fit in there reasonably well. I think the left fullback, Tuur Rommens, looks a real star, by the way. He looks a real star.

So I’m delighted with what’s been happening. I still probably think he needs to look in a wider area or up front.

However he named one player as the difference:

“The one thing I would do, and I’d be doing it right now, although you won’t get an answer, I’d be trying to get Mikey Moore for another year. I’ll tell you that right now.

I did say earlier on in the season that Mikey Moore was exactly what Rangers needed. We were sitting, eighth, ninth in the league, whatever it was, and it was a real fight.

The crowd was in turmoil, and the whole situation wasn’t good. But to be fair to Mikey Moore, to be fair to Rangers, and to be fair to the manager, things have turned.

He went on:

He’s one of these guys, the young lad, who’s going to have a great career and he’s a really talented player. But he’s clearly like a lot of wingers, they look good in teams, they play their best when the teams they’re in are doing well, and the team’s full of confidence, and they’ve got a great rapport with the fans.

All these things are happening with Mikey Moore right now and he has been terrific the last few weeks. Absolutely terrific.

Unfortunately he’s aware of the turmoil of Tottenham which makes so much uncertain.

So I would be sounding out at least another six months or another year at the start of the season. However, listen, we know where Spurs are at the moment.

They can’t commit to it. They wouldn’t be able to commit to anything given he may well play for them in the Championship next season. But no matter what happens, I think Danny Rohl will bring a few fresh faces in.”

On current form it’s hard to argue with Ibrox legend Ally McCoist, but the problems with Spurs mean the whole thing is up in the air. Another loan? A permanent? Time will tell on Moore’s future.
