Friday 27th February 2026 – William Hill have reported that close to 40% of bets in the William Hill Premiership outright market this season have been placed on Rangers.
The Gers are four points behind league-leaders Hearts heading into Sunday’s Old Firm derby with Celtic, with punters siding with Danny Rohl’s men to end the season on top.
Title race
In a thrilling three-way title race, the leading bookmaker and title sponsor can reveal the Scottish top flight outright market has seen the second-most betting activity this season, only behind the Premier League, and twice the amount of stakes compared with the EFL Championship.
William Hill have also already taken double the number of bets on the outright, compared to last season, and matched the takings from the 2023-24 campaign.
With the title tussle set to go down to the final day, it is priced at 10/11 that the winning margin will be 1-3 points, and 5/1 that the race will be decided by goal difference.
Lee Phelps:
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “A thrilling William Hill Premiership title race is set to take another turn on Sunday, when Rangers and Celtic meet at Ibrox.
“So far this season, Rangers have received close to 40% of bets in our outright market, with punters currently siding with Danny Rohl’s men to get the better of their Glasgow rivals and leaders Hearts.
“This campaign has certainly caught the imagination – betting activity in the William Hill Premiership outright is higher than any other European top league, aside from the Premier League.
“And our experts expect the outcome to go right down to the wire – the likeliest winning margin is 1-3 points.”
