Oliver Antman has confirmed his best position, and while it’s kind of what players would often say, his admission is telling.

The Finnish international conceded his start to life at Rangers was well short of what he’s capable of, and he’s been disappointed with how he’s played.

But he has clarified his best position on the pitch, and that admission could help his manager a lot.

Position

He said that last season he played on the right for club, and for his country he plays mostly on the left.

Meaning, he literally confirmed he ‘doesn’t care’ where he plays. He doesn’t mind if it’s left or right.

Ibrox Noise earlier discussed how he on the left and Andreas Skov Olsen could be an answer for Rangers’ overall flank balance issue. Rangers have lacked a proper established winger on either side for many, many years. The last leftie was Ryan Kent, and it’s slim pickings on the right, with Danny Candeias probably the most recent.

Rangers now have Andreas Skov Olsen on the right. And while Antman had previously operated there, he was quite happy on the left.

Confirmation

AKA – Antman has confirmed himself that he’s quite happy on either side, and will leave that to the manager.

In terms of his career at LW, well his numbers are good. 8 goals and assists in 21 for club, 13 goals and assists in 27 for his country.

Good is probably underselling him a bit.

Antman is absolutely fine on either flank, and has indirectly endorsed himself the notion of complimenting Andreas Skov Olsen on the right.

If it is as promising as it looked against Queens Park, it’s definitely got potential as Oliver Antman confirmed.

But time will tell.
