We have to admit the spotlight has been on Rangers manager Danny Rohl more following the draw at Motherwell. Danny Rohl’s dismissal of must-win is surprising.

His ardent backers scream ‘look what he inherited’. Those same backers yell that ‘he has taken Rangers places’ . But Ibrox Noise is a bit more discerning.

And his admission of implication today that he really didn’t know that Rangers are a must-win club is a bit of an alarm bell.

Confession

Rohl confessed in his presser today:

“Yeah, the next big game (Hearts). I think we have just a big game since I’m here. It’s all about a must-win; we want to win, we know what that means. We have a big opportunity to close the gap from 13 points to 2 points, and it’s a great opportunity.”

It’s a bit of a red flag fact that Rohl says ‘I think’ as if he is surprised that every single match for Rangers is a must win , for us.

Danny Rohl was not a first choice for this job, not even third. He ended up with the gig after Kevin Muscat and Steven Gerrard (both winners and champions) turned it down due to Thelwell and Stewart.

Popularity

Few fans wanted Rohl – those same fans are now lining up to back him. And are insulting anyone who has misgivings.

Ibrox Noise views the notion that him slightly mocking the notion of ‘must-win’ rather reveals how naïve Rohl actually is.

That he has already confirmed he was happy with the draw as well is another alarming take:

“Yeah, to bring it to the point, and I think maybe it wasn’t clear enough after the game, my message should be more when I look to the game back, after 90 minutes, then we want a win, but in this game we were not able to get a win. And then you have to accept in this game the draw, but it’s not that it feels well or good, now we go in more as a game, and I think if you listen to my press conference before, about the winning mindset. Since I’m here I speak always about winning games, but I felt after the game, when I take the respect to the opponent, how they played and how we played, then in this case, yeah, the draw happens.”

No Danny, we don’t accept the draw because you got the team selection and organisation wrong.

Motherwell

Motherwell are a brilliant side. And that’s the kind of match you have to win to have any pretentions of winning the title.

Hibs aren’t a brilliant side, but you choked there too.

A number of Rangers fans defending the result because of how good Motherwell’s form is. That rather sums up the mentality seeping through our club these days.

Quality team

Let’s justify not winning because a team was good. Rather than the importance of beating a good team in order to provide a case for being champions.

Fact is, the manager is out of his depth and this squad is still short.

We have said that from the word go. Despite his big backers raging ‘LOOK HOW FAR HE’S TAKEN US FFS’ at anyone who dares say a word against Rohl, we stand by it. Danny Rohl’s dismissal is concerning.

If you can’t win in the big matches when the pressure is on, where’s the case to win the title?
