If ever Rangers produced a Hollywood moment, it was against Annan in the Cup. Forget the result and forget the goals. It was against the fourth bottom team in the SPFL. Winning was all that mattered, maybe with a little bit of style. But it was what was done by the club before kick off that really set a truly Hollywood moment at Ibrox.

That unveiling before kick off

The unveiling of not only the two confirmed signings in Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens mattered. The unveiling, of course, of the big new superstar at Ibrox, Andreas Skov Olsen, mattered most. All three posed happily for photos at the sideline. They were introduced to the crowd to much fanfare, as well it deserved. It was, in Ibrox Noise’s mind, the finest Rangers moment since the club beat Leipzig in 2022. Yes, even better than beating Timmy at Parkhead twice. There are reasons for that which we may go into another time. But this moment alone was absolute unadulterated joy.

Why the night truly mattered

As we say, the result on the night was immaterial. Of course, winning was vital and was achieved with a little bit of style in the end. But it was the introduction of the three new superstar signings that mattered. We have added them to our roster. That really was a moment to behold. It is, as we say, our best club moment for years.

Skov Olsen changes everything

Skov Olsen, let’s make no mistake, is a borderline world class player. He is at the peak of his powers. Unlike the last one of that type we signed, Aaron Ramsey, he is not injured. He is fit and ready to go. He also completely wants to be here. We have an option to buy on him. We will go into that in another entry as well. Nevertheless, it was the appearance of all three. Him and his other two cohorts made the evening, no matter what.

A feel good moment Rangers needed

This is a kind of feel good moment Rangers fans have truly needed for a long time. Obviously winning the match was a nice bonus. It was essential to get through to the next round of the cup. But it was the three of them appearing in the way that they did that set the standard.

Why the announcement timing made sense

We did indeed wonder why Skov Olsen’s announcement had been delayed for so long. Ibrox Noise had information hours earlier that he had been signed. It had been confirmed and done. It was half past seven when the announcement came through. Of course, he and his two mates appeared on the pitch as well.

A blockbuster Ibrox moment

It was a brilliant Hollywood moment from Rangers. It showed the club is capable of a bit of pizzazz. This is an indication that we are owned by Americans now. This is the kind of moment Sir David Murray delivered in the nine in a row days. We have not witnessed that at Ibrox in a very long time.

Why this fits Rangers

With American owners and their stylish pomp, this suited Rangers. This is what we should be. A big barnstorming blockbuster moment. Exactly what Rangers fans deserve. It is what we need after what we have been through.

The other side is watching

It is safe to say the other side of Glasgow is not in a good mood. They are looking at us with jealousy. Ibrox Noise received many screen grabs and messages about that. It is amusing to see them suffer. Crucially, it is amusing to see them jealous.

The result was secondary

Fundamentally, Rangers nailed it last night. As we say, the result was nice and impressive. But it was immaterial against the fourth bottom side in Scottish professional football. It was that moment before kick off that counted. That is what we needed.
