There’s a bit of a rumour doing the rounds right now that a seismic signing is coming to Rangers.

So there’s some fatuous allegations that Dan Neil is coming from Sunderland and Joe Aribo is coming home. There’s a filthy big rumour that an ‘epic’ signing is coming.

ITKs

Naturally the interwebs are filled with this story, with supposed ITKs making these bold claims.

At Ibrox Noise we cannot confirm or deny, but the idea a Scottish football-shattering signing is being made is… intriguing anyway.

Rangers already made a signing we’re thrilled with in Andreas Skov Olsen, and we’re also very happy with Chukwuani and Rommens. So what qualifies as earth-shattering we’d be very interested to know.

We already reported that the club has around £12M budget left for this window, having shelled out £8M on £20M worth of talent.

Striker

But the one big thing the club clearly needs is a striker.

These are expensive and do not grow on trees.

Strikers are widely regarded as the most expensive position to ‘get a good one in’ and Rangers certainly need such a thing.

Even if one user dismissed as ‘a load of tosh’ our assertion that Youssef Chermiti doesn’t cut it.

‘Aye, he doesn’t score goals but he’s great at everything else!’

Sounds perfect!

Being serious, if there is to be an earth-shattering seismic signing for Rangers, it’s surely going to be something up top.

But it still requires the exit of Danilo who is completely draining resources. We just don’t know how Rangers can offload that guy.

Bojan Miovski also continued his struggles with a quite horrible miss v the Bulgarians last night. Meanwhile Chermiti just ‘doesnay score goals but he’s oustanding’.

If the club can pull that one off, it’s done brilliantly.

But either way, we’d love to see this seismic signing the rumours claim.
