Ally McCoist only half-jokingly has joined calls for a legal inquiry into Rangers’ dodgy deals this summer.

As Ibrox Noise reported some weeks ago, our sources informed us an internal inquiry was underway into Kevin Thelwell and his summer spending. We have heard nothing further on this.

Government enquiry

But McCoist has taken it a step further, demanding a government enquiry into the debacle.

He said:

“I’m not winding you up lads, I was actually shocked at what I was watching, some of the level of defending was unbelievable and then you finish the game up front with the centre half Fernandes and Chermiti. It was just as poor as I’ve seen in a long, long time, see the money Rangers have spent and it’s a lot of money. I’m telling you right now, man, there should be a government inquiry. Honestly, it’s unbelievable”

There is of course a speck of tongue in cheek here, he was speaking on talksport on his regular radio slot, but few would argue against his point.

Rangers have been robbed of ÂŁ50M by a Sporting Director who wasted every penny then hired his own son.

Finances

And Ally isn’t alone in question that use of Rangers’ finances.

Has illegality taken place? Is this corporate sabotage?

All we know is not a single paid-for signing has been anything other than a waste of cash so far, and Rangers are being drained of resources by overpaid rubbish. Ally McCoist notices that too.

McCoist is fair to call that out, but we highly doubt the Scottish government will put an inch or penny into looking into it.
