So now that the dust (hasn’t remotely) settled on Steven Gerrard’s exit from the Rangers negotiating table, the club has to move to other targets amid the next Rangers manager.

Ibrox Noise now covers the three men we believe are the best options for the club going forward.

Derek McInnes:

He committed to Hearts, but he stopped short of saying he will not leave them if Rangers make a tangible bid. He is happy there, flying high, and as yet the club did not approach the Tynecastle club for permission to speak to him. They are hoping that remains the case.

Derek McInnes is the best Scottish manager in the game now – he is from the Walter school of football and is the closest thing to the great man in the sport. He has silverware, and he learned from the best. He’s one of us, and has served his football and managerial apprenticeship.

He is ready now for Rangers, but is the time right for him? Would you give up a great gig at Hearts in which you’re the toast of Edinburgh to follow your heart and take the reins in Govan? Tough one given the mess we’re in.

Kevin Muscat:

Was only at Rangers for a short time but is a massively-rated manager in the world of football with several top flight league championship trophies. And those were at standards higher than the SPL. But not with the pressure attached that Rangers has. He’s a great manager, anyone saying otherwise is incorrect. But whether he could handle the powderkeg of Govan as boss is anyone’s guess. He was also technically rejected for Philippe Clement previously so we don’t know if he’d be willing to come this time around.

Marco Rose:

League champion with Salzburg in Austria, and shone for Borussia in the Bundesliga (65% win rate), Rose definitely knows pressure and what success takes. He’s less spoken about than other managers these days regarding Rangers but he’s a top boss. He’s also out of work right now and would be a free. Definitely one we’d trust.

There are other names: Knutsen, Ferguson, Lampard (and yes, there’s another three as well) all being mentioned but the above three, for now, are those we’d be most comfortable with.
