This may, may just be the last time Ibrox Noise ever utters the name ‘Russell Martin’. The man is a bad nightmare, and we still can’t believe he was Rangers ‘head coach’. Rangers’ wasted £45M is significant.

Ok the reality is the worst manager in our history probably is going to be mentioned in future echelons on this site as an example of what not to do if you’re Rangers boss, but really we’d love to forget him.

Problem

Unfortunately there’s a problem.

And that problem is a £45M issue.

With Steven Gerrard likely to take the reins in the next week, the next chance he will have to bring in his own players won’t of course be till January.

And unfortunately, the absolute prat he’s succeeding has literally just wasted £45M (according to Kevin Thelwell) of the club’s money on mince like Youssef Chermiti.

Big money

In short, Steven Gerrard is going to demand big money to overhaul a tripe squad. Martin has binned £45M of the cash available.

We are hoping the board will still offer Gerrard big money. But it’s painful to think of how much more a decent manager could have had. Especially compared with the Joe Rothwells and Thelo Aasgaards our last manager burned cash on.

Flex

The reality is the new owners have money – they flexed their muscle this summer by spending £45M. But imagine the quality of squad we’d have had a moron like Russell Martin not been let loose on it.

It’s all crying over spilled milk of course, but it’s still infuriating to consider the mismanagement of our club that a complete idiot like Martin was given the keys to Govan.
