Rangers must go NOWHERE NEAR these four managers

Let’s be unequivocal on Ibrox Noise about this next statement:

We do NOT want Michael Carrick, Danny Rohl or Kieran McKenna. We also do NOT want Frank Lampard.

Done

Rangers are DONE with half-baked Championship managers who don’t know the first thing about the pressure that comes with the Rangers job.

These guys might have in places played for goliath clubs and won trophies, but managing them is another kettle of fish and Lampard, for one, absolutely choked as Chelsea boss.

We understand the club IS talking to Carrick, Rohl AND McKenna, and we will not be behind a single one of them if they’re appointed.

No Prep

Being a Championship manager is no preparation for the utter mania of Rangers, as we have learned from Michael Beale and now Russell Martin. We didn’t really need the guide but the tangible proof is there.

Unless you win titles in top flight leagues, or can handle heavy-demand clubs, or can shine in the Premier League, you’re not for Rangers.

All of our proposed candidates fulfil these, bar Derek McInnes who’s a slightly different case, but the logic applies.

So if our board or owners thrust Carrick, McKenna, Rohl or Lampard on us we’ll have exactly the same attitude we did for the Soy Boy.

No no no no no.

Sloppy seconds

This would be the sloppy thirds school of managerial hunts.

We’re even hearing some desperate Rangers fans this morning coveting Barry Ferguson.

This is the pickle our club is currently in, that an abject boss like our former captain is now being vaunted by some.

Barry Ferguson. Michael Carrick. Danny Rohl. Kieran McKenna. Frank Lampard. Managers we don’t want at Rangers.

Shoot us now.
